Born in Venezuela but relocated to New York some years ago, Carlos Giffoni (1978–) is one of today’s hardest working musicians. Using computers and analogue electronics, Giffoni makes noise that is psychedelically coloured and high-voltage. He maintains a wide circle of collaborators, several of which can be found on this year's Avanto program ( Jim O'Rourke, Gert-Jan Prins, Lasse Marhaug and Lee Ranaldo). Along with his own projects, Giffoni curates the No Fun Fest of New York, which after three editions has become one of the most important experimental music events in Northern America.
Avanto Club in Kuudes linja on Friday, 17 November, 10 pm to 4 am.
